Fantasy Baseball Preseason Rankings: Top 30 Catchers

Catcher has undergone a weird transformation as a position in recent years. In general, it is pretty easily the weakest crop of talent — while that should make it easy to just ignore, there are many paths you can go down: the upside of old studs (Brian McCann, Mike Napoli, Victor Martinez), recent upstarts (Wilin Rosario, Salvador Perez, Jonathan Lucroy), or safe mediocrity (Carlos Ruiz, Miguel Montero).

Some of our biggest disagreements were over Matt Wieters, Jonathan Lucroy, and AJ Pierzynski — do you guys think these guys will repeat their 2012 performances or drastically change? As always, tweet us @RotoAnalysis or comment below with comments or questions.

NOTE: a rank of “40″ means they were unranked, and is simply used to calculate the average rank.
